We have an exciting opportunity for an Export Business Development Manager to join our team. The role would suit someone with experience in a similar role, managing and developing and maintaining relationships between manufacturer and distributors.

We are currently looking for a full-time permanent Export Business Development Manager to expand our busy and fast-paced team.

The team you’ll be working in

Working as part of the Commercial Sales team you will oversee, manage and maintain existing North American customer relationships whilst identifying new market opportunities within the Americas. You will need to develop the distribution network in North America to serve a growing demand from soccer, baseball and homeowner markets while collaborating with the existing USA distributor to develop their strategy for sustainable growth. You will also ensure that these distributors align with our brand and values whilst constantly striving to build long lasting customer relationships to contribute to company growth and goals.

What you’ll be doing

So that you can get a feel for the job, here is what you will be doing day to day:

· First point of contact for distributors in the region

· Building relationships with dealer/distributor personnel

· Ensure that engagement with technical support and parts departments of distributors and Allett Ltd is strong

· Assist distributors in developing marketing, distribution and after-sales support strategies

· Product improvement process – Product quality feedback to Quality and Design Engineering functions to support a ‘Product Continuous Improvement Process

· New Product Development (NPD)– Engage with distributors and end users to understand future New Product requirements and opportunities and feedback to NPD process

· Manage the distributors’ orders for timely delivery to meet in-country demand. Including early winter orders and sales forecasting

· Utilise the Company CRM system to provide transparent sharing of customer interactions and contact details

· Prepare our distributors for orderly NPD introduction in their markets

· Travel for face to face meetings and lead/support key account development in region

· Assist/enable digital resale platform implementation where appropriate

· Enable and organise technician product and service training programme in collaboration with product specialists

· Engage with Quality department to drive improvements in product quality, reliability, and serviceability with participation from distributors in the region

· Work proactively across the business with other key stakeholders and other departments to meet company objectives

· Perform any other duties the business requires within the remit of this role

What you’ll need to succeed

Need to know

  • Deep understanding of collaborative selling
  • How to work with Distributors to assist in developing their business for sustainable growth
  • Languages. Preferably mother-tongue English, desirable, business level Spanish
  • Operated at Executive level in previous roles
  • Business Commercial knowledge and experience
  • Previous experience with CRM

Need to have

  • Proven experience in a similar role, within a sales or commercial environment
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven experience of delivering exceptional customer service results and retaining customers
  • Skills in developing internal relationships in a commercial environment
  • Ability to travel and work away from home
  • A can-do, problem-solving approach with a clear understanding of delivering business development
  • Ability to adapt-to & implement change and thrive on it

More about the job

Hours of work are 40 hours per week: Mon - Thurs 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 3.45pm.

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 per annum based on 40 hours per week, depending on experience

Location: Rural, Hixon
