1.Can you give us a bit of a background of your previous role/qualifications etc?
I started my work life in the travel industry as a retail travel agent at Lunn Poly, aged 16, then I moved to a flight operations coordinator role at head office in Camden and then I moved into business travel. Whilst working in business travel I managed a team of travel consultants who booked flights, hotels, car hire etc for approximately 250 companies. I was made redundant in 2016 and decided to change my career path and signed up to do a professional HR qualification and started working as a HR Associate at a global Aerospace company in Wolverhampton. I worked in this role for 4.5 years before taking this appointment at Allett.
2. Can you give us a bit of background on your life e.g. where you live/married/kids/hobbies/pets- what you do in spare time/hobbies etc- any interesting facts
I live in Staffordshire with my husband, two children, Spencer and Phoebe and our dog Gilly. We love to take long walks over the chase as a family and spend a lot of time with our family & friends. My husband’s family live in Kent so we often take trips down to see them and have days out at the seaside.
3. What is the proudest moment of your working career so far?
I am proud of all my working achievements so far, however, one that I sticks out for me is whilst working within the travel industry in addition to being a travel consultant I was also a supplier coordinator and won supplier coordinator of the year in 2007. The prize was a trip to LA with some spending money, and a trophy!
4. What are you most excited about working for Allett?
I am excited about getting to know the team and understanding the business. I am excited to learn what the HR strategy is and how I can support the business in meeting its goals.
